HR2 Articulating Boom Lifts

If you have decided to rent a lift with High Reach, it is important to consider a few safety projects before using your lift rental. Before turning the machine on, consider:

  • Make sure you know the lift – do not operate any truck without the proper training and with authorization to use it. It is also important never to allow someone who is not authorized to use the lift or has no experience with the lift to use it.
  • Check the lift – for many lifts, there is a daily checklist to go over before they are used to make sure they are working properly. These checks can include making sure that the tires are in good shape, all lights are working, the instrument panel isn’t damaged, etc.
  • Keep your body inside at all times – doing otherwise could be detrimental to both your safety as well as the efficiency of the truck.
  • Never overload – especially with forklifts as they are made to carry things, it is important to check weight and capacity rules before using the lift.
  • Be aware of your surroundings – this is especially important if you are working in public, where pedestrians may get in the way of the lift.
  • Avoid sudden jerks or movements – keep operation as smooth as possible to make sure you do not overturn the lift.
  • Stabilize the load – again, especially with forklifts, trying to move a loose or unstacked load can be highly dangerous.
  • Use the work platform – and never bring anyone else into the lift unless they are attached to a security harness.
  • Make sure to properly turn off the lift after use – make sure that it is closed and shut down completely, never leave the lift running alone, and never leave the key behind unattended.

By keeping these rules in mind, you will be able to safely use your lift rental and accomplish the tasks your company has in mind. To learn more about our lift rentals and pick the best lift for your job, contact High Reach today.
